Demands of blind persons accepted: Hamza Shahbaz
Representatives of blind persons call off protest

LAHORE: PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said the blind persons will be provided with the jobs and all basic facilities.
It is the government responsibility to give all basic facilities to the special persons and the whole society. Sincere efforts are being made for resolving their problems, said Hamza Shahbaz. He was talking to a representative delegation of the blind persons at Model Town office on Wednesday. Punjab Ministers Haroon Sultan Bukhari, Asif Saeed Minhas besides Rana Sanaullah, Saood Majeed, Mansha Ullah Butt, chief secretary, Saba Sadiq and representatives of the blind persons were present. Hamza Shahbaz said negotiations with representatives of the blind persons had been successful and their genuine demands for jobs were being accepted.
He said two committees comprising representatives of the blind persons and the government had been set up which will work separately for provision of jobs to the blind persons having education from primary to FA level and higher education. He said jobs were being provided immediately to the blind persons having education up to FA level in their respective districts while highly educated blind persons will be given jobs in different departments and institutions within next two months.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said he will personally supervise negotiations and implementation of assurances given to the blind persons. He said steps had been taken for the solution of the problems of the blind throughout the province. Chief secretary said the blind persons should contact their commissioners concerned for their demands who had been appointed focal persons. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said the government was making sincere efforts for solution to problems of all segments of society while measures were being taken for giving facilities to the spaecial persons. He directed the officers concerned to extend full encouragement to the blind youth securing prominent positions in education and all out resources be utilised for making them useful citizens of society. After meeting with Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, the representatives of the blind persons announced to call off their protest.
