969 criminals arrested in Faisalabad in January

FAISALABAD: The police have arrested 969 alleged criminals from various parts of the district during the current month. The police spokesman Amir Waheed said here on Sunday that among those arrested were 281 drug traffickers, 274 proclaimed offenders, 186 illicit weapon holders, 153 gamblers, 48 target offenders and 27 court absconders. The police also recovered bet money of Rs 234,017, different weapons, including 143 pistols, 17 guns, 15 rifles, four Kalashnikovs, three carbines, three daggers, two revolvers, 1.55kg opium, 2,300kg heroin, 139.234kg charas and 4,330 litres liquor from them, he added. The police also unearthed four distilleries during this period, he said.
