Open manhole on Murree Road life-threatening
Rawalpindi: An open manhole on the busiest Murree Road, between Committee Chowk and Liaquat Bagh, is a life threat not only to motorists but also for schoolchildren and pedestrians. The bikers are more vulnerable when driving rashly particularly at night.
Ever year, Punjab government providing a handsome amount for development fund to concerned civic body Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), Rawal Town for covering manholes, nullahs, installing and maintenance of street lights.
Town Municipal Administration (TMA), Rawal Town Chief Officer Khalid Javed Goraya told ‘The News’ that the aforementioned manhole on Murree Road will be covered soon. He said that we are continuously covering open manholes but some drug addicts steal them to sell at cheaper price. We are closely monitoring such kind of criminals who are playing with the lives of public, he said.
