Senators visit residence of slain girl in Mardan
PESHAWAR: Senator Nasreen Jalil of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Senator Shahi Syed of Awami National Party and Senator Nisar Khan on Thursday visited the residence of four-year old girl Asma in Mardan, who was murdered a few days back.
They offered fateha and expressed sympathy with the family members of the deceased on the occasion, said a handout. Speaking on this occasion, Senator Nasreen Jalil and Senator Shahi Syed said that Asma was the daughter of the entire nation, adding, "We all were equally pained by all such acts of tyranny and barbarity."
They asked the father if he was satisfied with the investigation into the case. The father of Asma responded with satisfaction and added that the police were investigating the case vigorously.
The Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Mardan, Range, Alam Khan Shinwari, Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh and District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
The officials told the senators that the government should establish a DNA laboratory, which was not available in the province. The deputy commissioner said easy access to pornographic materials had had a bad effect on youth. He said the federal government should evolve a proper policy in this regard. Senator Shahi Syed said that he would raise the issue in the forthcoming session of the Senate.
