WANA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police dispatched a contingent of the Elite Force to the South Waziristan Agency to shift the family of Naqeebullah Mehsud so that it could appear before the investigation committee in Karachi, sources said Sunday.
The sources said that two vehicles carrying personnel of the Elite Force from Tank district would reach Makeen to escort the family of Naqeebullah Mehsud to Karachi.
A delegation of Mehsud and Burki tribesmen would also leave for Karachi to raise the issue of extrajudicial killings of tribesmen with officials and political leaders in Karachi.
Naqeebullah Mehsud was killed a few days ago in Karachi in an action led by SSP Rao Anwaar, known as ‘encounter specialist’ because he claims to have killed a number of militants and criminals in police encounters. He had also described Naqeebullah Mehsud as a militant. The Supreme Court has taken notice of the killing and protests have been staged across the country against Naqeebullah Mehsud’s assassination.
