Protest rallies taken out against Naqeeb’s killing

TAKHT BHAI: The students of the Government Degree College Takht Bhai on Saturday took out protest rally against the killing of Naqeebullah Mahsud in Karachi and asked the government to arrest the killers.

Led by Hameedullah, Saddam Mohmand and Gul Zada, the protesters, carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Karachi police, walked through various areas and gathered in Takht Bhai bazaar.

Speaking on the occasion, they said that extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mahsud by Senior Superintendent of Police Rao Anwaar in a fake encounter was a gruesome act. Such killings would never be tolerated, they added.

They said that poor Pakhtuns had to go to big cities to earn their livelihood but they were being killed in fake encounters. Pakhtuns had sacrificed their lives in the war against terror but they were still considered traitors, they deplored.

“Pakhtuns should be provided security at each and every corner of the country,” Hameedullah said, adding Pakhtuns were equal citizens of the country.

They said the police lifted Naqeebullah from Suhrab Goth at night on January 12 and killed him in a fake encounter in Latif Town in Karachi.

CHARSADDA: The activists of the Pakistan International Human Rights also took out protest rally against the killing of Asma Bibi in Mardan and Naqeebullah Mahsud in Karachi.

Led by Shah Nam Khan, the protesters carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the killing of Naqeebullah Mahsud, they walked through various areas and gathered outside the Charsadda Press Club.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah Nam Khan termed the killing of Naqeebullah in an alleged fake encounter as an inhuman act. He said that extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mahsud in fake encounter was regrettable and would not be tolerated.

BANNU: The activists of the National Youth Organisation (NYO) took out protest rally against the murder of Naqeebullah Mahsud in Karachi and asked the government to arrest the killers.

Led by Mureed Hayat, Rehman Shah, and Samad Khan, the protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Karachi police.

They marched through various areas and gathered outside the Bannu Press Club.

Speaking on the occasion, they said that the Karachi police were killing innocent people in fake encounter. “SSP Rao Anwaar is a target killer and should be deposed from his post,” Mureed Hayat said, adding that there were separate laws in the country for Pakhtuns.

KHAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) leaders and activists also took out protest rally against the killing of Naqeebullah Mahsud here.

ANP leader Noor Khan Durrani said that extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mahsud was regrettable. SSP Rao Anwaar should be brought into the court of law and matchless punishment should be awarded to him, he added.

NOWSHERA: Like other parts of the country, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz activists took out protest rally against the  killing of Asma Bibi in Mardan and Naqeebullah Mahsud in Karachi.

PML-N leader Ikhtiar Wali Khan said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government had failed to provide security to the people as assault on minor girls had become a routine.
