CII to conduct research on psychological, social aspects

Islamabad: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) while condemning tragic killing of Zainab in Kasur, has decided to conduct research on psychological and social aspects of the incident.

The CII meeting chaired by Council’s Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz also demanded that earlier recommendations of the body with regard to prevention of incidents of rape with children should be implemented.

The CII members Dr Samia Raheel Qazi, Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi, Justice (R) Muhammad Raza Khan, Dr Noor Ahmad Shahtaz, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, Justice (R) Manzoor Hussain Gilani, Dr Sahibzada Sajidur Rehman, Malik Khuda Bux and others attended Council’s 209th meeting.

Regarding question of observing ‘Black Friday’, the Council meeting recommended that Friday should not be called as Black because this colour is given wrong meaning in the society. The meeting recommended that instead the title of ‘Blessed Friday’ should be used on the day of offering discount to customers by business community.

The meeting decided to hold a conference in order to highlight and discuss rights of men, women, eunuchs and children. On the issue of Prohibition of Children’s Marriage Bill, the CII members recommended that the Council would furnish its recommendations after taking a view of laws in other Muslim countries.
