Zardari’s sitting with attackers of Parliament baffles Achakzai
ISLAMABAD: Seasoned parliamentarian and chief of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) Mehmood Khan Achakzai Wednesday expressed his surprise over former president Asif Ali Zardari to sit with chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr Tahirul Qadri and Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, saying that it surprised him when Asif Ali Zardari stood with those who attacked the Parliament.
“If anyone condemning the Model Town incident then one should also condemned May 12 incident during the dictatorship of General Musharraf,” he said while talking to newsmen after the PAC meeting, which was cancelled on Wednesday due to lack of quorum.
He said Imran and Qadri continued attacking the Parliament and even Imran receiving salary from the same Parliament. “But it’s hurt me when Asif Ali Zardari sits with them,” he said.
Achakzai said everyone either it be judge, general or parliamentarians had taken an oath to defend and protect the Constitution of Pakistan and whosoever violates it will be guilty of treason.
He said if the incident of Model Town condemnable then in the same way the incident of May 12 should also be condemned as firing in Karachi was continued for six hours.
Achakzai said the whole nation including Nawaz Sharif condemned the incidents of violence and murders and these incidents should be probed. “I am not blaming General (R) Pervez Musharraf for May 12 incident but the investigations be carried out,” he said, adding that it was the right of Qadri to seek justice for the workers of his party.
He said the US president daily hurling the warnings to Pakistan daily but instead of replying him the people were only thinking how to stop Nawaz Sharif.
