Defeated elements do not want a prosperous Pakistan: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said that the days of those levelling baseless allegations were numbered because the negative politics had annoyed the people.

Talking to Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique who called on him, the chief minister said the defeated elements did not want a prosperous and developed Pakistan and the He said the faces of those who created records of politics of lie and false allegations have been exposed.

Those claiming to make a new Pakistan had disappointed the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Shahbaz, adding that people could not be served through hollow slogans.

Separately, the chief minister ordered the police to arrest Zainab’s murderer immediately, warning that no excuses would be accepted for any delay.

He was chairing a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, during which the IGP gave a briefing on the developments on the callous rape and murder case of the minor girl in Kasur.

Shahbaz said all requirements of the justice would be fulfilled in the deaths of two persons due to police firing incident, with the accused to be punished. He would personally monitor the progress on both cases, said the chief minister.

He directed the IGP to visit Kasur daily to review the progress and asked the Punjab Forensic Laboratory DG and the additional secretary home department to immediately leave for the city to discharge affairs of their departments in connection with the two cases.

Also on Saturday, the chief minister said outgoing Turkish Consul General Serdar Deniz had played an effective role in promoting and strengthening Pak-Turkey.

Talking to Deniz who paid a farewell call on him, Shahbaz said brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkey had been translated into bilateral trade and economic cooperation during the last few years.
