3rd National Junior U-18 Snooker C’ship: Kamran Masih, Hamza upset seeded players
ISLAMABAD: Kamran Albert Masih and M Hamza Ilyas upset seeded players in the pre-quarter-finals of Jubilee Insurance 3rd National Junior Under-18 Snooker Championship here at PSB Billiards & Snooker Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad on Tuesday.
Seed No 3 Muhammad Rafiq and seed No 4 Yasir Ahmed were sent packing. Shahzaib Malik, Sheikh Muhammad Mudassir, Ahsan Ramzan, Sheheryar Abbas, Umer Khan and Hamza Ilyas of Punjab while Muhammad Rafey of Sindh and Kamran Albert Masih (KPK) moved into the quarter-finals by defeating their opponents.
Last year semi-finalist Muhammad Rafiq of KPK was one of the favourite as he also represented Pakistan Junior team in the Asian Junior U-21 Snooker Championship held last year at Chundigarh (India).
Muhammad Rafiq looked totally off coloured Tuesday as Kamran Albert Masih-also from KPK managed to defeat him 4-2 in the first pre quarter. Thirteen year old promising M. Hamza Ilyas (Lahore) then outplayed fourth seed Yasir Ahmed (Balouchistan) 4-0 in the best of seven match. Following are the complete results of pre- quarter final matches.
