Pakistan outclass Bangladesh in Blind World Cup opener

KARACHI: Pakistan were off to a winning start as they outclassed Bangladesh in the opener of Blind Cricket World Cup at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Monday.

Bangladesh managed 207-6 after Pakistan won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first. Bangladesh lost a wicket on just three runs when Badar Munir caught Abdul Malik off his own bowling.

The other opener Arifullah along with Tanjilur put up a solid partnership of 86 runs. Tanjilur got LBW off Sajid Nawaz after scoring 32. Arif also got out on the total of 104 after scoring 57 off 103 balls.

Rizvi Hussain got Run-out after scoring 15. Mehmood Rashid (33) remained not-out. Badar bagged three wickets, while Sajid Nawaz and Matiullah took one each.Pakistan’s opening pair played aggressively as Badar struck 146 off just 70 deliveries, smashing 24 boundaries. Amir Ashfaq scored 46. Arif got one wicket.Badar got the man-of-the-match.The match between India and Australia at Ajman was washed out due to rain. Both the teams got one point each.
