ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s outgoing Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) and newly appointed Director General Institute of Strategic Studies (ISS) Ambassador Masood Khan called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM House here on Wednesday.
He briefed the prime minister about the standing of Pakistan in the world body and told him that international community acknowledges Pakistan’s role in peace and security in the region. Nawaz appreciated the services of Masood Khan during his career as a diplomat and felicitated him on his outstanding performance.
Masood Khan was appointed as Pakistan’s PR to the United Nations in October 2012 from where he relinquished charge upon his superannuation in the first week of this month. As PR in the World Body Ambassador Masood represented the country in a commendable manner and performed his assignment in excellent way. The UN Secretary General Ban ki Moon lauded the services of Ambassador Masood Khan in his farewell reception in rich words as the ambassador took part diplomatic activities at the UN headquarters with fair amount of dedication.
