Quetta Gladiators pick 15-year-old Junaid
KARACHI: Quetta Gladiators have picked 15-year-old Mohammad Junaid to complete their 21-player extended squad. The franchises were told to extend their squads at the PSL Franchise Stakeholder Meeting held in Lahore last month.
The pool of available players included unselected players from the HBL PSL Draft, players brought in through scouting and talent hunt campaigns, and players who took part in the National T20 Cup held in Rawalpindi last month.
Quetta-based all-rounder Junaid was identified by Gladiators in their talent hunt programme in the city. He is also among the standby players for Pakistan’s under-19 squad. Junaid, who will turn 16 in May next year, will become the youngest player to feature in the PSL squads.
Other players picked for the extended squad are Salman Irshad (Lahore Qalandars, Talent Hunt), Mohammad Taha (Karachi Kings, Emerging), Imran Khan Jr (Lahore Qalandars, Silver), Rohail Nazir (Islamabad United, Emerging), Mushtaq Ahmed Kalhoro (Karachi Kings, Talent Hunt), Khushdil Shah (Peshawar Zalmi, Emerging) and Shan Masood (Multan Sultans, Silver).
