Her solo flight

This refers to the article, ‘Her solo flight’ (February 24) by Rahimullah Yusufzai. Though the article is good, it contains some factual errors. Begum Saifullah was a minister in Junejo’s government but certainly not the first woman minister at the national/federal level. This honour belongs to Begum Mahmooda Salim Khan who remained West Pakistan minister for education and health in Gen Ayub Khan’s cabinet during the 1960s.
Khan Bahadur Quli Khan Khattak played a role in the rescue of Molly Ellis – a young English lady abducted by Ajab Khan Afridi and his gang from Kohat– not ‘Molly Amis’.
