Bilour flays gas, power loadshedding in KP

PESHAWAR: Senior Vice-President of the Awami National Party (ANP) and Member National Assembly from Peshawar, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been deprived of its resources.

Through a statement issued here on Thursday, the ANP senior leader said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was producing surplus gas and electricity but Punjab had been controlling these resources. He said the people of the province were facing severe electricity and gas loadshedding. The ANP leader said the suspension of gas and electricity to the province was aimed at creating a sense of deprivation among the people of the province.

He said the very action of the federal government was against the spirit of the Constitution, which had accepted the producer province first right over its resources. Bilour pointed out that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produced oil but had no refinery.
