Semifinalists decided in National Hockey
LAHORE: After the last day of the Super Round of the 64th National Hockey Championships at Peoples Hockey Stadium, Sukkur, semifinals line-up has been decided. The two semifinals will be played on Saturday. National Bank will face Navy at 6.00pm while Wapda will take on Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) at 8.00pm Unfancied Navy defeated defending champions PIA and remained unbeaten in the super round to deservedly claim a place in the last four. On Thursday Navy drew with Fauji Fertiliser Company (FFC) 1-1. Scorer for Navy was Mohammad Sabir whereas FFC scored through Khairullah. National Bank defeated Customs 4-1. Scorers for National Bank were Faisal Qadir, Aamer Ali, Attique Arshad and Dilber. Customs netted through Munawwar. PIA outplayed Punjab 5-1. Scorers for PIA were Nasir Ahmed 2, Shafqat Rasool 2 and M Ali. Punjab’s lone goal was scored by Jahangir. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) trounced KP 9-1. Scorers for the winners were Ghulam Abbas 3, Samiullah 2, Ayub 2, Dawood 1 and Rana Waheed 1. KP got their goal through Safian Khan.
