CM inaugurates uplift projects in Kohat
KOHAT: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday launched several projects and announced sub-tehsil status to Shakardarra area during his daylong visit to Kohat district.
He made the announcement while speaking at a public meeting at Shakardarra Union Council.
Law Minister Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, Member National Assembly Sheheryar Khan Afridi and former governor Iftikhar Hussain Shah also spoke on the occasion.
The chief minister launched work on a number of education, health and communication projects and formally opened the competed schemes.
Pervez Khattak said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government was well aware of the problems faced by the masses.
“Finding a solution to these problems is the KP government priority. This is being done by following an inclusive development policy for all parts of the province,” he went on to add.
The chief minister, however, pointed out that there were districts in the province which were less developed compared to others. “This is why we are giving special attention to such districts to bring them on a par with developed ones,” he added.
Without naming any political party, the chief minister said gone were the days when the chief minister’s house was notorious for “SMS” and “Easy Load Culture”. He said people were exploited in the past in the false promise of giving them Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan.
Pervez Khattak named a number of measures taken by the PTI government during the last four and a half years to improve governance and provide facilities to the masses.
He hoped the PTI would emerge victorious in the next general election and had a chance to serve the people again.
Later, the chief minister visited a religious seminary at Mandoori and offered fateha for those 30 people who had died in a road accident while on a journey to attend a preaching gathering.
He announced Rs500,00 each for the heirs to the dead, Rs 300,000 for the seriously injured and Rs100,000 for the slightly hurt.
