HAFIZABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo has criticised Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his anti-people policies.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that the CM had increased problems for the peasants and traders instead of resolving them. He claimed that the PPP was getting popular day-by-day due to the anti-people policies of the PML-N. He further claimed that the PPP would make a clean sweep in the next general elections.
Later, addressing a workers’ convention at Jinnah Hall, Pakistan People’s Party Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo urged the party workers to shun their differences and work for the party. He said that he had launched a mass contact campaign in the province for strengthening the PPP.
Earlier, PPP workers and activists accorded a warm welcome to Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo on his arrival in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran president Sheikh Muhammad Amjad paid tributes to Wattoo for giving the district status to Hafizabad in 1993. He said that they would never forget his historic decision, fulfilling the longstanding demand of the masses. He said that Wattoo would always be remembered by the people of Hafizabad. He also arranged a function in the honour of Wattoo at a local school, which was attended by a large number of social and political workers.
