PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the balloon of those falls flat who take money from the Jews.

He said that the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) would play a dominant role in the upcoming general elections and would not allow the secular forces to impose own agenda on the country.

Addressing a ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (SAW) Conference’ here on Sunday, the JUI-F chief said that some secular forces had taken advantage of the division among the religious parties in the 2013 elections. “But the MMA component parties will not let them win elections and promote foreign agenda in the country this time,” the JUI-F chief said.

The Maulana said that some political parties had complicated a simple solution to mainstreaming the tribal areas. He said the JUI-F would honour the decision of the tribespeople about status of their area. The Peshawar High Court (PHC) jurisdiction could not be extended to Fata till Article 247 and the Frontier Crimes Regulation was abolished, he elaborated.

Referring to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government’s step to allocate public money for some madaris, the JUI-F chief said that taking money from government would tarnish the image of religious institutions. He said the JUI-F was the first political party in Parliament which had raised concern against amendment to oath-taking process and it was restored to its original form within 48 hours.

Fazlur Rehman also condemned attack on a church in Quetta and expressed his sympathy with the affected families.
