Man tortured to death by Kasur police
KASUR: Raja Jang police on Friday allegedly tortured to death an accused involved in a cattle theft case.
Reportedly, the police had arrested Iqbal, father of six children, and his relative Farooq from Haveli Gathian Wali in a cattle theft case a few days ago. Later, the police allegedly tortured Iqbal to death while Farooq was also tortured. Later, relatives of the deceased staged demonstrations on various roads and burnt tyres and blocked different roads of the city. They demanded that an FIR should be registered against SHO Zulfiqar Hamid, SI Tahir Islam, ASI Amanat Ali and other police officials. The protesters said that they would not receive the body of Iqbal till the arrest of the accused cops. Lahore-Kasur Road was blocked for traffic due to the protest till the filing of this report.
