BAHAWALPUR: A 10-month-old child was allegedly killed by dacoits at Mauza Barar, Rahimyar Khan, on Sunday.
According to Mukhtiar Ahmad, head of the family, three dacoits entered his house and tried to loot valuables. They allegedly opened indiscriminate fire when the family members offered resistance. As a result, bullets hit a 10-month-old child who was sleeping in a cart, which caused his instant death while Mukhtiar also sustained bullet injuries. The family also caught one dacoit identified as Tariq and handed over to Zahir Pir police. However, neighbours of Mukhtiar claimed that no dacoity incident was occurred and the murder was a result of illicit relations between a woman of Mukhtiar family and Tariq who was caught red-handed. The police have registered a case.
