Petition against council secretary filed with PHC
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has allowed writ petition against the appointment of secretary village council in violation of merit and directed to appoint the petitioner as secretary Nusrat Khel village council in Kohat district.
A division bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth and Justice Musarrat Hilali allowed the writ petition against the appointment of secretary village council.
The court declared the earlier appointment of Ilyasuddin and Muhammad Tariq as secretaries village council against the merit and directed to appoint the petitioner Waseem Khan as secretary village council.
During hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer Syed Bilal Jan submitted before the bench that the petitioner as per the rules applied for the post of secretary village council. He said that after test and interview, the petitioner was on top of the respondents in the merit list, but he was ignored in the appointment.
