ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek -e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Ms. Andleeb Abbas has written a letter to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi about continuation of Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar despite having been declared proclaimed offender by an Ehtesab Court.

She wrote in the letter that prime minister took oath as chief executive of Pakistan and that he would not allow his personal interest to influence his official conduct or his official decisions. But unfortunately, his personal interests have always taken precedence over nation interest.

She pointed out that Dar, who had been declared a proclaimed offender by an accountability court in the NAB reference on December 11, was still being blessed by the premier with official status as federal minister, allowing him all perks and privileges at tax-payers’ expense. She continued that under Article 19-A of the Right of Access to Information Law, 2017, she should be provided answers to four questions.

These included: why Dar was still a federal minister and an even bigger burden on the tax-payer despite having no duties and no intentions to come back to Pakistan.

Ms. Abbas said that Dar was enjoying a salary of Rs200000 per month along with perks of home, cars, security, protocol, TA, DA and medical allowance amounting close to Rs3 million.
