BAHAWALPUR: The 61st Founders Day of the Sadiq Public School, the country’s prestigious educational institution, was held here on Friday.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 35 Div/BoGs member and the SPS Executive Committee chairman Maj-Gen Sadiq Ali was the chief guest in the ceremony in which a large number of people from different walks of life participated. Addressing the ceremony, Maj-Gen Sadiq Ali said that he was feeling privilege to be guest of honour in the 61st Founders Day of such institution like Sadiq Public School. He said that the SPS was not only imparting standard education to its students but also grooming the youth of the country. He paid rich tributes to the founder of the institution late Ameer of Bahawalpur Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi and termed him as remarkable philanthropist of the sub-continent who proved his great vision by establishing such marvellous educational institution. He said that the Sadiq Public School was serving the nation by producing high standard youth. SPS Principal Prof Nauman Qureshi in his welcome address said that the school was the country’s leading residential educational institution, which was imparting quality education with its high esteemed spirit. The chief guest also distributed medals and trophies among the students who showed exceptional performance. Earlier, on the arrival of the GOC, a smart contingent of cadets of the school presented salute to the chief guest. A national song was also dedicated to the martyrs of the Army Public School, Peshawar, which was highly admired by the parents and guests.
