LAHORE: Announcing contesting elections as an independent candidate against Imran Khan, dissident MNA of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Ayesha Gulalai has called for a national government to ensure political stability in the country.
Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Monday, Ayesha Gulalai said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former President Asif Ali Zardari and Imran Khan had no solution to address the public woes. Besides, she said some leaders, only to hide their own failure were criticising the army which in reality played a key role to curb possible sectarian clashes in the country during a recent sit-in at Faizabad.
To a question, she said she wasn’t against those who staged a sit-in over the issue related to Khatam-e-Nabuwat (SAW) but an appropriate way to plead the case was to move to court. Gulalai demanded the report of Raja Zafarul Haq concerning the amendment to the constitution should also be made public.
She said that already the government had completed its four years with great difficulties and sit-ins multiplied its challenges. She said legislation was needed against sit-ins. The PTI MNA, who rose to fame while leveling allegations of harassment against her own party head Imran Khan a few months ago, said that Nawaz, Zardari and Imran were not capable of addressing the problems of Pakistan.
