Volleyball: Police, Navy make it to semifinals

KAMALIA: Police and Navy won their matches to complete the semifinals line up of the ongoing All-Pakistan Gold Cup Volleyball Tournament at Municipal Sports Complex here on Saturday.
Pakistan Junior U-20 and Wapda have already reached into the semifinals. Pakistan Junios will lock horns with Navy in the first semifinal while Police will face Wapda in the second semifinal.
Earlier, Police had to fight hard to subdue Army Juniors in the third quarterfinal. After winning the first game 25-21 the Police faced tough resistance from the Army Juniors who won the second game 26-24.
However, Police won the next two games 25-20 and 25-10 to win the match 3-1. Navy beat Punjab in the last quarterfinal 3-0. Punjab players performed well in the first two games but lost the match 25-21, 25-20 and 25-18.
