10 cops issued notices for poor performance

GUJRANWALA: CPO Waqas Nazir has issued show-cause notices to 10 police officials for poor performance.
He issued notices to the policemen, including SI Athar Imam, SI Tariq Mehmood and SI M Akbar, during his surprise visits to the Model Town, Satellite Town, Civil Lines and Dhulley police stations. The CPO said that no laxity would be tolerated in duty. He ordered the SDPOs and the SHOs to launch a drive for arresting proclaimed offenders. He also directed them to investigate cases on merit and submit challans in the courts timely.
CLERK COMMITS SUICIDE: A junior clerk committed suicide in the Pakistan Red Crescent Society office here.
Mohsin Saleem of Ratta Road committed suicide by strangling himself. According to his father, Mohsin had divorced his first wife and wanted to contract second marriage immediately but his family was against it. Police have handed over the body to the family after completing legal formalities.
