Wapda lift National Karate trophy

LAHORE: The National Men’s and Women’s Karate Championship ended here at Wapda Sports Complex here on Wednesday.
Wapda lifted the trophy by winning 7 gold 1 silver 1 bronze medals which earned them the highest 180 points. Saadi Abbas won two gold medals in the championship. Army won 2 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze medals to secure 95 points for second spot.
Wapda also dominated in women’s category with7 gold medals, 2 silver medals which earned them 185 points and first position. Nargis won three gold medals in the championship. Army won 1 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze medals to collect 80 points and second spot.
Amer Ahmad, President Wapda Sports Board, was chief guest at the closing ceremony of the championships.Teams of Army, Police, Railways, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP, Islamabad and FATA participated in the championships.
