Zardari-led govt can’t continue in Sindh: Pir Pagaro

SUKKUR: The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), an anti-Pakistan People’s Party political platform in Sindh, amassed a large number of political workers here on Sunday.
Addressing the grand show, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi said that the rulers had completely failed to address the concerns of people, adding that the situation of Pakistan was like that of a newborn child.
The PML-F chief said that law and order had worsened due to the wrong policies, which were devised by the so-called rulers. On the other hand, he paid rich tributes to the Pakistan Army and Rangers for restoring peace in Sindh. He saluted the personnel of army and Rangers, adding “The Zardari-led government cannot continue in Sindh as it has ruined the entire province.”
The PML-F chief said that he respected Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who was a great political leader. He said that Asif Ali Zardari, on the soyem of Benazir Bhutto, had told his party workers that he knew the killers of Benazir Bhutto.
Questioning Zardari’s remarks, the PML-F chief asked that Asif Ali Zardari stayed in power for five years, but what made him keep the names of those killers under the wrap.
Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi said that he was aware of pre-poll rigging in 2013, but his party contested the elections only for the sake of democracy. He claimed that the poll results were manipulated.
The PML-F chief said that more people wanted to join the GDA, adding that the GDA would run the future Sindh government. “Now, we will not allow any force to manipulate the election results.”
Describing the plight of growers in Sindh, he said that the growers of Sindh were being victimised and were not getting reasonable rates for their products. “There is no fixed rate of sugarcane as well.”
Federal Minister Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi said: “The accountability process is underway; the looted money will soon return to the national exchequer and will be utilised on the welfare and development of the poor people of Sindh.”
The federal minister said that Asif Ali Zardari destroyed the country and the GDA would change the scenario.
GDA General Secretary Ayaz Latif Palijo said that the people of Sindh were committing suicide due to poverty. He said soon the GDA will register with the Election Commission of Pakistan. He said that the GDA will ensure strengthening of health and education network, adding that the promotion of religious tolerance would be one of the party’s top agendas.
Addressing the rally, Zulfiqar Mirza said: “We cannot even think about the division of Sindh. Now, no victimisation will be tolerated.” Mirza said that water must be included in the slogan of the Pakistan People’s Party. He said that there was no water for irrigating lands in Badin and other cities of Sindh, adding that the landlords of Badin were passing through a really tough phase. He said the sugarcane rates were not fixed because “the manager of Asif Ali Zardari was not ready for it.”
Former Sindh chief minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Arbab Ghulam Rahim announced to quit the party, calling Nawaz Sharif “rude and interest-oriented politician.” Rahim said, “Nawaz Sharif remained close to Asif Ali Zardari and now Zardari is reluctant to meet him.”
