Woman, child among 5 martyred in Quetta suicide attack

QUETTA: Five persons including a woman and a child martyred in a suicide attack near Saryab bridge here Saturday, while 21 other people including women and children were also injured.
According to details FC vehicles went to bring Commander Saryab Sector. When these vehicles reached bridge along Saryab road a suicide bomber blew himself close to the vehicles and as a result there was big explosion. Windowpanes of shops and buildings in the vicinity were shattered. Two
motorcycles, three rickshaws, six vehicles and 2 FC vehicles were badly damaged in the explosion. Police say a security forces’ vehicle was target of the attack. Five people died on the spot while sixth later succumbed to injuries. They included a woman and a child. Twenty one people were injured. They included two women and two children. They were shifted to hospital for treatment.
The law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and started search operation.
APP adds: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Saturday strongly condemned the attack on convoy of security forces at Quetta which resulted in loss of precious lives.
He expressed his deep grief and prayed for the departed souls, PM office media wing said in a press release.
