Student killed as school wall collapses in Hangu

HANGU: One student was killed and 24 students and a teacher sustained injuries when the boundary wall of a private school collapsed on Samana Road here on Thursday.Police said that annual sports competitions of private schools were underway at the Concept Model School and the students were sitting on the boundary wall to watch the tennis match. The boundary wall could not support the weight of the students and collapsed, leaving a grade-IX student Asadullah dead and 24 others injured.The 24 students and a teacher who also sustained injuries in the wall collapse incident were taken to a hospital in Hangu.However, the teacher and two students were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar due to their precarious conditions.
