Siraj flays BD tribunal
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has condemned the death sentence announced by the controversial War Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh for six Islamist leaders belonging to JI Bangladesh for their alleged role in supporting Pakistan army to counter the separatist movement of 1971 that led to the secession of East Pakistan from Pakistan. In a statement on Wednesday, Sirajul Haq called upon Pakistani government to take up the issue at the international level and seek support of the world community to stop the executions of JI leaders. Sirajul Haq said JI leaders in Bangladesh were being punished only for their loyalty to Pakistan. Meanwhile, Sirajul Haq expressed grief over the martyrdom of Major Ishaq during a fight with terrorists.
