ISLAMABAD: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has strongly condemned the death sentence announced by the so-called War Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh to six leaders of their country.
In a statement here, he called upon the Pakistan government to take up the issue at international level and seek support of the world community to stop executions of JI leaders.
Sirajul Haq said the JI leaders in Bangladesh were being punished only for their loyalty to Pakistan but the government in Islamabad was completely silent. He stressed that the issue should be raised before the International Court of Justice in the light of the tri partite agreement between Pakistan, Bangladesh and India.
Meanwhile, the JI chief has expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Major Ishaq who lost his life during a fight with terrorists. The JI chief paid glowing tributes to the martyr and expressed condolences with the bereaved family.
