ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court rejected Advocate General Islamabad’s plea to record statements of all three doctors jointly on same day who prepared medical report of Tayyaba’s torture case, a minor housemaid.
Justice Aamir Farooq announced reserved judgment Wednesday on the application moved by the Advocate General Mian Abdul Rauf to record statements of all witnesses on same day. While rejecting the plea, the bench issued notice to Dr Tariq, a member of the medical board constituted to examine alleged tortured maid to record his statement as witness, on November 24. It is pertinent to mention that all three doctors were cited as witnesses from the applicant (Istigasa) side.
Tayyaba, who was allegedly tortured by former additional district and sessions judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife, was rescued from his house in Islamabad with visible wounds on December 28, 2016. An FIR was registered against him and his wife, Maheen Zafar, on
December 29, 2016.
