Dacoits kill policeman in Okara

OKARA: A head constable was shot dead near village 52/3R on late Sunday night.
M Ashraf was appointed at Sahiwal Central Jail. He was going to his village on motorcycle. When he reached near village 52/3R, he was intercepted by dacoits who tried to rob him. Dacoits opened fire at him when he offered resistance. He died on the spot. After completion of autopsy, the body was handed over to the heirs. It is to be noted that the victim was going home on leave for the wedding of his son, scheduled after two days.

Addressing a meeting, Executive District Health Dr Saifullah Warriach said more than 550,000 children under 5-year of age would be administered anti-polio drops. He said teams would visit every house in this connection. He urged all parents to get their children administered with anti-polio drops.
