KP clinch Shuja Basketball Gold Cup title

LAHORE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) defeated Punjab by 48-31 to win Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada Shaheed Basketball Gold Cup at Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Friday. KPK dominated the final and won the title convincingly.
The tournament was organised with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab (SBP). The teams from all four provinces Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Fata and Shuja Khanzada Club took part in the 4-day tournament.
Commissioner Income Tax Lahore Syed Maudood Hussain Jaffery was the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony.Addressing the closing ceremony, chief guest Jaffery appreciated the game of both the finalist teams.
“It’ nice to see thrilling basketball matches in Shuja Khanzada Shaheed Basketball Gold Cup event. It’s true that our country has plenty of talent in every game,” he added. Lauding the role of Sports Board Punjab, the chief guest said SBP is doing excellent job for the promotion of sports in the province. “The Nishtar Park Sports Complex is laced with all necessary facilities and youth of the province must avail these facilities,” he maintained.
