Family members stage demonstrations, term it murder

SIALKOT: Three cousins were killed when their car fell into the Marala Ravi Link Canal while the family termed it a murder.
Amir, Arslan, Zeeshan and Faisal were on their way when their car fell into the canal after hitting a tree due to overspeeding. As a result, Amir, Arslan and Zeeshan drowned while Faisal was injured. He was shifted to a hospital. On information, Rescue 1122 reached the spot and recovered the bodies of Amir and Zeeshan and the car from the canal. However, search was under way to recover the body of Arslan.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s relatives with hundreds of villagers staged demonstrations and termed the incident a murder by their rivals. They staged demonstrations on Commissioner Road and Kashmir Road. Talking to newsmen, the protesters said that their rivals had opened fire on the car due to which it went out of the control and fell into the canal. After assurance of justice from police high-ups, the protesters dispersed. Head Marala police have started investigation after arresting a suspect.
It is worth mentioning that Adil, elder brother of Amir, was allegedly murdered over a property dispute by Nawaz on December 30, 2014. Police had arrested the accused and shifted him to the District Jail.
