MULTAN: Additional Inspector General of Police Amjad Javed Saleemi has directed the range police to take extraordinary security measures across the worship places, schools and national installations in the wake of the Peshawar mosque tragedy.
Addressing a meeting in Khanewal on Saturday, he said that no lethargy would be tolerated in this regard. He said that the terrorists were anti-Pakistan. The terrorists were following the foreign agenda to sabotage the country but the vigilant police force would foil their nefarious designs, he added. He said that police were using modern techniques in arresting terrorists and criminals. He appreciated the Khanewal district police performance and said that it was encouraging. He directed the district police officials for effective campaign against proclaimed offenders.
In order to combat terrorism and eliminate crime, the police officers should be on the same page as an organised force and they should come forward in fields to avert the terrorism incidents, he added. He said that police lines training schools had been activated. Khanewal DPO Jehanzeb Khan also spoke on the occasion.
Rallies against Peshawar mosque attack

MULTAN: Activists of Pakistan Awami Tehrik, Tanzeem Ahle Sunnat and Pakistan Sunni Tehrik on Saturday took out rallies against the Peshawar mosque tragedy.
The rallies were taken out from Chowk Ghantha Ghar and culminated at Chowk Kutchery. The participants were carrying placards and banners. They were also chanting slogans against the government. They said that the government had failed to provide security to the citizens. The participants demanded the government launch an operation against Taliban and their facilitators.
Addressing the rallies, Allama Syed Mazhar Saeed Kazmi, Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Allama Farooq Khan Saeedi and others criticised the government for not beefing up security across the worship places.
