Zardari hopes PPP to form govt at Centre, KP in future

NOWSHERA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari said on Monday that his party would form the government at the Centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after winning the next general election.

Speaking at a party workers’ convention here, he said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had failed to provide any relief to the masses.

“The provincial government could not utilise all the allocations in three consecutive budgets in the province,” he said, adding the PTI introduced inefficiency and mismanagement.

He said the previous PPP government had done tremendous work for the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “The share of the KP in the National Finance Commission award was increased and the province was renamed by the PPP government,” he recalled.

The PPP leader said his government had not deprived people of their jobs. Alleging that PTI wanted to make 200,000 employees jobless, he said his party would oppose snatching jobs from the people.

He said the PTI claimed to be the proponent of justice, but it had stopped every move that could have ensured a just system in the country. “The PTI should first introduce the system of justice in the party and then clamour for justice in Pakistan,” he remarked.

He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had deceived masses by claiming reforming the health sector, but it failed to tackle dengue outbreak.

Zardari said that Pakhtuns had become aware and could not be deceived any more.

He praised the PPP workers and vowed to visit the province again to hold workers conventions in every district.

Zardari assured the workers that their reservations would be addressed. He said the PPP had always respected its workers and would continue with the tradition.

He said his party could make electoral alliance with Awami National Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl for contesting the next general election.

Earlier, Zardari flew to Nowshera in a helicopter from Peshawar.

The helicopter landed at the Army Garrison Ground where the soldiers had prepared a helipad.

 He went to the house of PPP central leader Mian Muzaffar Shah, a former minister of state, in the security of army soldiers, cops of Sindh Police and local police.

 He held meetings with a number of politicians there. Zardari also held a meeting with the provincial president of Ulema-o-Mashaikh Wing, Pir of Manki Sharif Pirzada Nabi Amin and invited him to join the PPP.

He had lunch at the residence of Mian Muzaffar Shah. Zardari’s personal cook had prepared the lunch for him. Later he left for Islamabad in his vehicle on Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway.
