MULTAN: The Supreme Court senior lawyers have demanded the government remove National Assembly Kashmir Committee chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman because he has allegedly failed to deliver and develop consensus in favour of the Kashmir cause at the international forums.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, senior lawyers Kanwar Intizar, Muhammad Khan and Kanwar Khalid criticised the performance of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and said that he had proved himself a white elephant for the Kashmir cause and the Kashmir Committee.
Kanwar Intizar said that the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs was playing a vital role in developing consensus as compared to the Kashmir Committee. He said that the Kashmir Committee chief and members were enjoying perks, luxurious offices and vehicles on public money. He has demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif sack Kashmir Committee chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and assign the responsibility to the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs for pleading the Kashmir cause at the international forums.
Seminaries warned of action if found involved in terrorism

MULTAN: Additional IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi has warned seminaries of taking action against them if found involved in terrorism.
Inaugurating a newly-constructed building of Basti Malok police station here on Saturday, he said that registration of fake cases and partial police actions were a major hurdle to justice. He asked the people to avoid registering false cases. He said that encroachments were a security threat and an anti-encroachment drive was must to save and secure schools from the security threat.
MCCI FOR DRIVE AGAINST FAKE NOTES: The Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the government to take action against the anti-social elements involved in circulating fake currency.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, MCCI president Mian Iqbal Hassan said that proliferation of counterfeit notes had become the biggest threat to the economy and the masses, therefore, the government should tackle the issue with iron hands. He urged the government and the State Bank of Pakistan to launch a drive to combat the menace. He also urged the SBP to launch a campaign to educate the people about security features of currency notes.
The MCCI president asked the State Bank of Pakistan to provide machines for detection of fake currency. He said that the general public should be encouraged to hand over counterfeit notes that come to their possession to banks.
