BHAKKAR: As many as 1,219 proclaimed offenders and 286 court absconders were arrested in the district in 2014.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, the DPO said that 50 drug pushers were nabbed and 2.257kg heroin, 75.710kg charas and 7,364 litres wine recovered from them during the year of 2014. The police also recovered booty after arresting dacoits in different incidents, he informed. The DPO said that all the SHOs were directed to investigate all cases purely on merit so that the public may get relief. He said that all possible steps were being taken to maintain peace in the district. The DPO also lauded the role of media in curbing crimes in the district.
