PTI not hungry for Senate seats: Qureshi

MULTAN: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf vice-chairman Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday said the PTI was not hungry for Senate seats and the party could sacrifice the KPK government for the noble cause of change but it would not back out from the party’s basic commitment and mission.
Addressing a meeting held at Chowk Nag Shah here, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the present regime was not serious in making the Judicial Commission, but the PTI would continue her struggle. PTI chairman Imran Khan had awakened the nation through Islamabad sit-ins and developed an urge for change in the country, he added. He said those joining the PTI to get election tickets should wait for their turn because the PTI was struggling for the rights of rejected and dejected classes. He said neither Imran Khan was interested to become Prime Minister nor he was fond of becoming the Punjab chief minister. He said farmers had been destroyed financially after low prices of cotton and rice, adding that mafia was victimising cane growers. He said the PTI was not superior class party because the PTI workers like Haq Nawaz had sacrificed their lives for the party. He said not a single meeting of Kashmir Committee could be convened in the last one-and-a-half year. The PPP-regime continued for five years, but the PPP faced shameful defeat due to alleged corruption in the elections, he maintained. AJK former president Barrister Sultan Mehmood resigned from the party while Ch Sarwar resigned from the Punjab governor office, he added. The PTI would be the single largest party in the next general elections, he added.
