Status of Imran, Qadri as proclaimed offenders to continue
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri did not appear before an anti-terrorism court on Thursday hearing the SSP Asmatullah Junejo torture case.
The court has summoned the witnesses on August 31 to record their statements and their status as proclaimed offenders would continue. During the previous hearing on July 20, the court had summoned details of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri's assets. The court, which had earlier this month ordered to temporarily seize the properties of Imran and Qadri till their production in court, adjourned the hearing to August 24. Imran and Qadri are facing charges of damaging property in the Red Zone, attacking the state-run TV channel's building and injuring the then SSP (Operations) Asmatullah Junejo.
