Quake jolts Gilgit, adjoining areas

GILGIT: An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude jolted Gilgit and its adjoining areas Wednesday night. According to meteorological department, the intensity of earthquake was recorded 4.7 on Richter scale with focal depth of 15 km. Its epicentre was 35 km in south west. No loss of life has been reported yet. According to eyewitnesses, people came out of their homes while reciting ‘Kalma Tayyaba’ and citizens spent whole night in open grounds in severe cold. --Online
