Transporters protest against RTA

CHAKWAL: Wagon owners and drivers on Wednesday staged a demonstration and blocked main Chakwal-Talagang Road for more than five hours against the Regional Transport Authority.
The protesters chanted slogans against the RTA officers and alleged that the RTA had impounded more than 100 vehicles by saying that they were not following the new rates fixed by the government after cut in the POL prices. Later, the wagon owners and drivers ended their protest by saying that they would not reduce fares fixed by the district administration.
BODY FOUND: The dead body of an addict was found near the railway station here on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Asad Ali of Rehan Colony, Khewera. Later, City police shifted the body to the DHQ Hospital for post-mortem. Sources said that the deceased was an addict and he died of severe cold.
