Governor for unity among KP, Fata people

PESHAWAR: Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has urged the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata to foster unity.

“This in itself will be a best tribute to the heroes of the freedom movement and all those who sacrificed their present for ensuring better future for us as the nation,” he said in a statement on the eve of Independence Day.

The governor said, “The 14 August carries vital importance in our individual and collective lives, since on this day in 1947 we got our beloved country, Pakistan.”

“The day reminds us the innumerable sacrifices offered by the Muslims of South Asia for achieving their cherished goal of independence.  We salute them.  On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartiest felicitations to all the countrymen especially the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata,” he added.

He said that freedom empowered people and enabled them to work for the socioeconomic wellbeing and prosperity of their countrymen.

“Many a times, since independence, we as a nation faced difficult times but managed to overcome the challenges successfully,” he added.
