KP hockey chiefs not invited by PHF
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has left Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Hockey Association in the dark by not sending it invitation to attend the Executive Board meeting to be held in Islamabad on Thursday.
Both Saeed Khan (vice president) and Syed Zahir Shah (secretary) have been left out of the meeting, raising fears that current PHF incumbents only believe in taking their near and dear ones along.
Saeed was elected as the vice president of PHF during the congress meeting on November 25, 2013, in Islamabad for four years. His tenure runs from January 2014 to Jan 2018. But he has not been invited for the meeting.
All Executive Board members are elected by congress which last held its session on November 26, 2015. According to PHF Constitution Clause 12.10, the federation congress session has to be convened once in a year.
The minutes of that meeting have not been circulated even after lapse of almost 20 months. The PHF Executive Board consists of PHF president, four vice presidents (including lady representative), secretary, joint secretary, provincial associations’ secretaries and two departmental representatives. The Executive Board meeting is being held after 15 months.
