Nawaz Sharif accorded warm welcome on entering Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: The PML-N workers, supporters, lawyers and leaders warmly welcomed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif as his caravan reached Faizabad Interchange here on Wednesday evening.
The participants carrying banners and placards bearing pictures of party leaders and slogans for PML-N and Nawaz Sharif. The participants were also chanting slogans for their leader extending their full support.
Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah who was overlooking rally arrangements at Murree Road Rawalpindi told ‘The News’ that public has given decision in favour of Nawaz Sharif. “I am checking security arrangements here in Rawalpindi,” he claimed. He said that Nawaz Sharif will once again be prime minister in 2018 elections.
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also visited Faizabad to monitor overall situation of the rally. The rally had started from Punjab House reaching Faizabad through Zero Point, Blue Area and D-Chowk. Former prime minister waved to party workers and responded to their support and slogans. Foolproof security arrangements were made for the rally during its voyage within the capital territory. Hundreds of workers and supporters of PML-N gathered around Nawaz Sharif car throughout travelling from Punjab House to Murree Road, Rawalpindi.
As caravan entered Rawalpindi, Nawaz Sharif came out of his car and waved his hand flashing victory sign. The welcome camp served the participants of rally with cold water and soft drinks and Pulao at Faizabad. The residents and PML-N supporters of Rawalpindi waved victory signs to express solidarity with Nawaz Sharif and raised slogans in his favour.
As the rally reached Faizabad, hundreds of local political workers and students mainly from PML-N joined them. The PML-N workers, supporters and leaders showered flowers over their leaders. The PML-N supporters danced to the beat of drums. Some supporters have brought dancing horses with them raised ‘Go Imran Go’ slogans on the occasion.
At Shamsabad, Nawaz Sharif mixed with supporters and workers of PML-N. He came out of his car and freely mixed with his supporters. The supporters also took selfie with Nawaz Sharif on the occasion.
The sources said that Nawaz Sharif will address the rally at Kutchery Chowk late in the night. Nawaz Sharif will stay here in Rawalpindi as concerned staff is busy in cleaning Punjab House, Rawalpindi, the sources said.
