Army, Navy, WAPDA record wins as kabaddi event begins

KARACHI: Army, Navy and WAPDA were off to a flying start when they won their opening matches of the 1st Strawberry Inter-Departmental National Kabaddi Championship (Asian style) which began at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, on Wednesday.
Army thrashed Railways 45-10. In Group B, WAPDA overwhelmed SNGPL 60-30 and Navy defeated Police 58-21. In the seven-team event, the two leading sides from each group will qualify for the semi-finals which will be held on Saturday. The final will be conducted on Sunday.
