Attempt to abolish articles 62, 63 won’t be allowed: Siraj
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has said the rulers’ attempt to delete articles 62 and 63 from the Constitution to escape accountability would not be allowed. He was talking to different delegations at Kimrat in Dir (Upper) on Sunday.
Siraj said the JI struggle for a corruption-free Pakistan was at final stage and all those who had plundered the public wealth in any manner would be exposed and made to return the looted money. He said nobody was above the law and the constitution.
He said the recovery of the plundered wealth would help in providing basic facilities to the people all over the country. JI Secretary Information Amirul Azeem and district Nazim Sahibzada Fasihullah and MPA Muhammad Ali Khan were also present.
He said the JI wanted to enforce the Islamic system of life in the country. It wanted to make articles 62 and 63 more effective during the next elections so that the corrupt elements could not enter the elected houses.
Siraj said the rulers would not be allowed to usurp the rights of the people of Malakand. He said the foremost route of CPEC that had been agreed upon by all passed through Dir and Chitral. He said that was also the shortest as well as safest route because of being close to China. However, he said some elements were looking at the CPEC from their personal angle instead of national interest. He stressed the rulers to immediately begin work on the Malakand route and give up the longer and insecure route. –INP
